Minnesota State College Southeast has sustained the enrollment gains it achieved over the past four years. As of the 30th day of classes, credit headcount enrollment at Southeast was 2,287, nearly identical to 2024 (2,294).
Since 2022, Southeast had experienced 14.3% increases in Fall 30th Day Enrollment.
30th Day credit headcount enrollment represents the number of individual students who have registered for credit classes 30 days after the first day of the academic year.
It is not a final number for the entire semester, as students continue to register for classes after the 30th day.
Last year, Southeast was in the top five for increased enrollment among the 26 two-year colleges in the Minnesota State system, and was well above the system average increase of 7.7%.
Southeast’s recent enrollment growth has been driven by the Red Wing College Promise and the College Opportunity Program in the Winona area.
Funded by local philanthropists, business, and industry, these programs make it possible for eligible recent high school graduates in the Red Wing and Winona school districts to attend college at Southeast tuition-free.
In addition, the North Star Promise provides free college tuition for Minnesota students and families with a family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) below $80,000.
Preliminary data shows that more than 140 students at Southeast are benefiting from the North Star Promise this fall.
