Dr. Marsha Danielson, who has served as president of Minnesota State College Southeast since July 1, 2021, announced her retirement at the conclusion of her current contract on June 30, 2026.


In a letter to her Colleagues, she wrote “Serving as your president has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated and passionate individuals. Over the years, we have advanced a shared vision to elevate student success, equity, and institutional sustainability. I am proud of what we have accomplished together.”


She closes by stating she remains deeply committed to facilitating a seamless transition in the year ahead while advancing key priorities: strengthening Strategic Enrollment Management, increasing philanthropy, fostering a data informed organizational culture, and expanding industry-aligned Workforce Education initiatives.


Minnesota State Chancellor, Scott Olson, they will begin a national search immediately and they are in the process of hiring a national search firm to assist them. A timeline for search process events will be shared later this fall.


It’s Olson's intention to kick-off the search this fall with the goal of bringing forward his recommendation to the Board of Trustees in the spring.
