Minnesota 4-H Dairy Showcase




Area 4-H dairy project members were among those honored state-wide who were recognized for their dedication to their cows, clubs and communities through the the Minnesota 4-H Dairy Showcase, a points-based recognition program that awards cash prizes to the state’s top 4-H dairy project members. 


More than $75,000 was contributed by donors, and 80 percent of that was awarded to youth at the 16th-annual Minnesota 4-H Dairy Showcase, held Sunday, Aug. 25 during the Minnesota State Fair.


Lauren Rott of Olmsted County, sponsored by Alpha Gamma Rho; Zinpro. The 2023 PEM High School graduate will receive $2,700.


Treyton Alberts of Olmsted County, sponsored by Rice County Boosters, Rice County American Dairy Association, Square Deal Dairy, and the Goodhue County ADA. He will receive $1,250.


The annual Rising Star program honors youths who have completed grades six through eight, to encourage younger 4-H members to participate in the 4-H dairy showcase. 


This year they will recognize 10 Rising Stars, who will receive a neck medallion and an award of $400.


The 2024 honorees include Sidney Brown, Ashley Mellgren, and Emily Mellgren, all of Wabasha County.
