Red Wing Aces 10 Hastings Hawks 0 (7 innings) Aaron Johnson tossed a complete game four hitter and struck out 10 to lead the Aces to a big win over the Hawks at Veteran's Park in Hastings.
Red Wing scored six runs in the third inning, three in the fifth and closed the scoring with a run in the seventh inning. Every Aces starter had at least one hit with Zach Harding, Teddy Tauer and Dixon Irwin getting two hits apiece.
Red Wing is 12-11 overall and more importantly 3-1 in the key Region 5C CCVL games. The Aces have another big Region 5C CCVL game Wednesday at Lake City at 7:30pm on KCUE.
Another Region 5C CCVL game Sunday saw Cannon Falls beat Lake City 10-3 at John Burch Park in Cannon Falls.
