Kellogg-Wabasha Trail Connection

Wabasha County Commissioners recently approved a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Federal Highway Administration and the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office in regard to the proposed Kellogg-Wabasha Trail Connection project.

The Plainview News reports the County is the lead agency and Federal funding is planned for use on the project, and a federal permit must be obtained for construction.

The project would include construction of a bituminous surfaced multi-use trail from Winona Avenue near Kellogg over the Zumbro River, connecting to 645th Street.

The timeline for constructing the trail depends on available finances. The best case scenario would be in 2027 or potentially 2028.
