Hope Coalition Mobile Outreach Unit

A local non-profit organization with offices in Red Wing and Wabasha has a new free program designed to help reach people and provide basic need items.

Hope Coalition empowers lives affected by domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and homelessness in Goodhue, Wabasha, and parts of Western Pierce County. Outeach Manager and Program Director, Chasity Steffenhagen, says their Mobile Outreach Unit is serving rural communities in Wabasha & Goodhue County counties once a month, onsite of the local food shelf.

The Mobile Outreach offers basic hygiene supplies, infant supplies, simple clothing and common cleaning supplies. Wabasha County Advocate, Melissa Drenckhahn, says they also have advocates on hand ( for confidential assessments and referrals on sexual assault, domestic violence, or child abuse inquiries).

The current outreach areas are Wabasha, Lake City, Zumbro Falls, Mazeppa and Elgin. The goal is to expand in the communities of Kenyon and Plainview.
