Hwy 42 detour expected to begin today for the installation of the Reduced Conflict Intersection (RCI) at Hwy 61.
Work is scheduled to be complete the week of June 20, weather permitting.
Traffic on Hwy 61 wanting to access Hwy 42 will go west on Wabasha Co. Rd. 18 then south on Wabasha Co. Rd. 4 to get onto Hwy 42.
Hwy 42 traffic will go north on Wabasha Co. Rd. 4 then east on Wabasha County Road 18 to travel on Hwy 61.
Signs will be in place to direct motorists to Hwy 42 businesses, such as SVJ Creative Designs and Cowpokes Western Shop.
This work is part of the project that is resurfacing 27 miles of southbound Hwy 61 from Wabasha to Minnesota City, improving seven bridges, making enhancements in Weaver and installing an RCI at Hwy 61 and Hwy 42 near Kellogg.
Work is expected to be complete at the end of October.
