Football:
The Goodhue Wildcats (11-0) will face the Springfield Tigers (10-0) in The Minnesota State High School League Class A football quarterfinals Thursday, November 7th at 7pm at the Rochester Mayo High School stadium on KWNG 106 and streamed at www.kwng.com.
The winner advances to the State Class A semi-finals Saturday, November 16th at US Bank Stadium.
Goodhue earned their 11th state football tournament appearance...and first since 2017...by blasting Fillmore Central 52-7 Friday night for the Section 1A championship in Kasson.
In WIAA football playoff action Saturday, Freedom beat Prescott 43-14 in Division 4 Level 2 action.
Cross Country:
The Minnesota State High School League Cross Country State Tournament was held Saturday at the Les Bolstad Golf Course at the University of Minnesota.
In the Class A girls race, Olivia Yotter of Lake City was 36th overall. On the boys side in Class A, Conrad Seydel of Lake was 43rd.
In the Class AA girls race, Nora Hanson of Red Wing was 15th. Rylan Bennyhoff of Red Wing was 71st in the boys race.
Girls Hockey:
The winter high school sports broadcast schedule starts Saturday, November 9th when the Red Wing Wingers face the Austin Packers at Riverside Arena in Austin.
The game time has been shifted from 7pm to 12 Noon on Bluff Country 1250 KCUE/KCUE 99FM and streamed at www.kcueradio.com with Jack Colwell calling the action.
