Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity’s long term housing project in Red Wing just got a big boost forward.
The Jones Family Foundation has granted $64,000 to Habitat over a two-year period to support fund development efforts for HOPE Heights, the 5+ acre site of the former St. John’s Hospital.
Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity purchased the site from Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Southeast Minnesota Region.
The site will be developed for 23 single-family or twin-home family units.
Habitat plans to raise funds for the development of the site and then begin constructing at least three homes on the site each year for Habitat families. Funds will be sought from the State of Minnesota and from local supporters.
