The Goodhue County Workforce Investment Program has provided up to $40,000 to fund ten Goodhue County residents who are currently unemployed or underemployed to pursue credentials at Minnesota State College Southeast in key areas of employment for the County (including nursing, administrative support, information technology, accounting, business management, and criminal justice).
These students won’t pay anything out of pocket for their tuition, fees, or books. They will participate in a paid summer internship with the County and, once they have completed their credential, they will be considered as priority candidates for employment with the County.
The students have up to three years to complete their credentials. Recruitment for this effort has been underway for several weeks, and the ten students will be selected shortly.
The Winona County Workforce Investment Program will provide $150,000 in funding to support unemployed and underemployed Winona County residents to pursue and obtain a credential at Southeast that will lead to employment, in any career and technical program.
These students won’t pay anything out of pocket for their tuition, fees, or books. The students have up to three years to complete their program.
