Goodhue County Sheriff's Office is alerting the public to yet another round of clever scams.
They have received multiple complaints of residents getting phone calls from someone claiming to be a deputy with Goodhue County.
One of the calls said they were a deputy and they were following up on a FDA loan. Another call said the deputy sent her an email that said she had a warrant.
While there may be times when a Deputy does call you, a Deputy will NEVER call you and ask for money, gift cards or Bitcoin to clear up a warrant.
If you receive a call from someone claiming to be a Law Enforcement Officer (of any kind) and you are suspicious, HANG UP and call your town or county dispatch and ask to speak to that Law Enforcement Officer.
Law enforcement encourages you to please talk to your loved ones and friends so they do not fall for these types of scams.
