Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office Bitcoin Scam

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office is alerting the public they have seen a large number of bitcoin scams recently.

They report it may start as your ipad or computer have a “virus” and they claim to be able to fix it.

They then need large amounts of money withdrawn and put into local Bitcoin machine to fix the problem.

The Sheriff’s Office says if scammers contact you by email, text or phone, remember, if they want you to withdraw thousands of dollars, not tell your bank, send pictures of the money you withdraw, deposit the money into Bitcoin machines or to keep your phone on you at all times, it’s a scam.

They remind people, it’s VERY hard to track down your money once it’s entered into those machines.

If you feel like you are being scammed, call the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office at 651-385-3155.
