Five for Food Drive Extended

Five for Food, an initiative of the Greater Lake City Community Foundation for the Lake City Food Shelf, is coming up a little short as it concludes its tenth year.

The goal for 2024 is $50,000, but Five for Food Coordinator Bruce Carlstrom reported a total of $47,646. 

In the hope of reaching the goal, the deadline for donations has been extended to Wednesday, April 10th.   

Five for Food has raised over $300,000 in ten years, which has allowed the Lake City Food Shelf to provide over one million dollars of food for those in need in the greater Lake City area.

It is the largest source of donations to the Lake City Food Shelf each year. 

The Lake City Food Shelf is an IRS recognized charity. Tax-deductible donations can be made by check payable to Lake City Food Shelf and mailed to Greater Lake City Community Foundation, P. O. Box 86, Lake City, MN 55041.
