The 68th Annual Eagles Cancer Telethon this past weekend was a big success.
KTTC television in Rochester broadcast the live, 20-hour Telethon from 8 p.m. the Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday and it featured about 125 acts showcasing their talent during the live Telethon.
As of late Sunday afternoon the Telethon had raised $955,614.
The money raised supports vital cancer research at three local institutions: the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, the Hormel Institute at the University of Minnesota, and the Masonic Cancer Center at the U of M.
The 5th District Eagles Cancer Telethon is the longest locally run telethon in the United States.
