Motorists in Cannon Falls will experience traffic delays downtown beginning Monday, April 4 when construction crews remove the traffic signals and replace with a temporary four-way stop at Main and Fourth streets (Hwys 19 and 20).
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, stop signs at the intersection will direct vehicles at each approach to stop and then proceed when it is safe. Traffic backups are likely, especially during the peak travel times in the morning and afternoon.
Other construction work will begin to the east of the intersection. Motorists may find lane restrictions or short-term delays when traveling through the work zone.
