A Red Wing nursing home taken over by the state late last year has closed its doors.Â
The Minnesota Department of Health took over Bay View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in December after multiple complaints.
The state began a thorough examination of the facility's operation and ultimately decided there was no way to pay for the extensive repairs needed to make the building safe for residents.Â
The impending closure was announced in May and officials spent the last few months helping the 50 residents find new places to live.
