Walk to End Alzheimer’s River Cities

The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Red Wing area residents to participate in its Walk to End Alzheimer’s-River Cities Saturday at Colvill Park.

The River Cities Walk includes surrounding communities like Hastings, Lake City and Cannon Falls.

Committee co-chair, Sheryl Williams, says there are several different colors of Promise Flowers representing the diverse motivations of the Walkers. 

Williams says her team has special meaning to her and almost everyone has a friend or loved one that has suffered through the disease.

There will be a special silent auction Saturday morning and people can check out the fantastic items up for bidding in the Pavilion.

All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. The goal this year is to raise $61,000.

Check-in on Saturday is a t 9:00 am, the opening ceremony at 10:00 a.m. with the Walk beginning at 10:20 a.m.
