Wabasha County Sheriff Salary

Wabasha County Commissioners on March 17 approved the settlement of County Sheriff Rodney Bartsh’s salary appeal.

The County Board set Bartsh’s 2026 salary at $140,900 on Dec. 2, 2025.

The Plainview News reports Bartsh appealed his salary determination to the Wabasha County District Court.

Settlement conversations were held and it was agreed that the salary will be set at $150,000.

Bartsch announced in February he is retiring at the end of his current contract.  

The agreement notes that, should Bartsh seek re-election and win another term as Sheriff in 2026, he stipulates and agrees that his 2026 salary will be $140,900 for purposes of any future salary setting, and he shall submit the amount of $140,900 as his 2026 salary to any court with jurisdiction over his salary for future years.
