Wabasha County Opioid Settlement

Wabasha County Commissioners recently approved Opioid Settlement Funds for the Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center in Winona.

The Wabasha County Opioid Advisory Council recommended funding for Hiawatha Valley Mental Health to implement a new program, ‘Saving Lives Through Education and Awareness,’ for Wabasha County in the amount of $11,152, using Opioid Settlement funds.

According to the Plainview News, the HVMHC project will provide training on how to administer Naloxone and how to use Fentanyl test strips.

The program will include education on Naloxone by agency staff.

HVMHC is a Naloxone Access Point and has test strips in its clinic in Wabasha.
