
The pilot of a crop dusting helicopter escaped injury when the chopper hit a power line and crashed to the ground.
According to the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office, they received a 911 call Tuesday at 2:52 pm reporting the crash just north of the intersection of County Road 2 and County Road 8 north of Elgin in south-central Wabasha County.
The helicopter, owned by Iron Horse Aviation out of Gilman, Iowa, was piloted by 31-year old Tyler Williams of Tallahasse, Florida and and contracted by Ag Partners out of Goodhue.
The Federal Aviation Administration assisted via phone and will be inspecting the wreckage which has been moved to a different location.
