Superintendent Wagner Stepping Down

Superintendent of Red Wing Public Schools Dr. Martina Wagner will leave the district at the end of the school year.

School board members accepted with deep regret her resignation at their meeting Monday. The effective date is June 28, 2024.

Dr. Wagner came to RWPS as the director of teaching and learning in 2022, immediately taking a visible role in the district’s successful renewal of its operating levy referendum. When School Board members hired a permanent superintendent a few months later, she was their clear choice.

The board will contract with the Minnesota School Boards Association to begin the search for a new superintendent.
