Emergency response teams were called to the City of Red Wing Waste Campus, 1873 Bench Street on Monday after a report of a suspicious object on the facility’s sorting line.
Staff placed the 911 call after noticing an object resembling a grenade.
Emergency personnel verified that the object was harmless and did not pose a threat to public safety.
The Waste Campus was able to remain open to customers once emergency personnel confirmed there was no public safety threat and all necessary precautions were taken.
