Red Wing Veteran’s Day Event 2025

ree

Red Wing area residents and veteran’s are invited to attend a free event celebrating Veterans Day events this week.

Red Wing High School, Hiawatha Valley Family Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, MN State College Southeast and Red Wing American Legion Post #54 are committed to the honoring of United States Veterans and Servicemembers and they have planned a special assembly on Friday morning at 10 am in Sonju Gymnasium at RWHS.

Featured guest speaker is Colonel Steve Babcock, United States Army.

Lance Garrick, Treasurer of Hiawatha Valley Family Beyond the Yellow Ribbon and Commander of Red Wing American Legion Post #54, say the event is a great chance for youth to meet and talk to veteran’s.

This year’s assembly will include music by students from the high school and college, a recognition of our visiting Veterans and Servicemembers and the reception to follow.  Garrick says this year they are going to be putting up 18 banners downtown with veteran’s information on them.

They will stay up through November and they are accepting applications for next year already. To inquire about the banners, which are $165 each, email Brenda@anchorpromotions.com.

Guests are asked to enter RWHS through the district office doors (#36) Friday where you will be greeted by students and staff and escorted to the seating area on the gymnasium floor. Students will begin seating at 9:55 am.

The assembly will run about 1 hour in length with refreshments and cake to follow.
