Red Wing Retailers Cannabis Registration

Greg Taylor

Minnesota requires sellers of hemp derived cannabinoid products to register with the State of Minnesota by October 1 and all Red Wing retailers, including exclusive liquor stores, tobacco shops, bakeries, salons, health food stores, convenience stores, grocery stores, etc., must register.

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) will oversee this registration process. Registration is free.

This registration is not a license, licensing will be available later, projected to be in 2025, through the Office of Cannabis Management.

This registration database will provide the state with a means of communicating with businesses selling cannabinoid products.

Any establishment selling these products may be inspected by the Minnesota Department of Health to ensure the establishment is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

The Red Wing City Council will hold public hearing during Monday nights Council meeting.

You will have an opportunity to share your thoughts on the proposed moratorium on cannabis sales and production in Red Wing.
