The Red Wing City Council last week approved sending a Letter of Intent with Prairie Island Tribal Community for a Cannabis Partnership.
Mayor Mike Wilson says Prairie Island is looking at the city-owned Bauer Built property on Old West Main for the location which needs a lot of work, estimated at 1.2 million.
Prairie Island would take 8% off the top to run and then split profits with the city
Wilson says the council and staff are still looking into the details of how it work and if it’s a good fit for Red Wing. He says the council voiced their general support but he still has doubts.
Prairie Island opened Island Peži "pay-zhee"in June next to the Dakota Station convenience store in Welch.
The vote was 4-1 with Ron Goggin voting no. Becky Norton and Don Kliewer were both absent.
