Red Wing Fire Department Fire Marshall

The Red Wing Fire Department is a combination fire department staffed by 28 full-time Firefighter/Paramedics and up to 30 Paid on Call firefighters.

Andy Speltz’s role in the Department is Fire Marshall.

Speltz says when a fire gets called in it’s all hands on deck and that includes him.

Speltz says following certain types of fires, the State Fire Marshall is called in to assist, including fire investigations and fire death investigations and fire inspections in public and charter schools, hotels/motels and health care facilities.

In addition to investigating suspicious fires, the Red Wing Fire Marshall’s role also includes fire code enforcement and interpretation and fire inspections.
