Red Wing Door-to-door Solicitors

The Red Wing Police Department have received several complaints recently about door-to-door solicitors.

Solicitors are required to register with the City of Red Wing Community Development Department.

Please be alert for fraud and ask for proof of any solicitor's registration.

Tip for avoiding fraud:

- Get more than one estimate for any project.

- Only work with known licensed and insured contractors.

- Ask for and check references.

- Get contract terms in writing. Do not sign contracts that have blanks or missing information

- Do not pay in full or sign off on work completion until you verify that the work is completed and up to code
