The Wabasha-Kellogg PTO is asking the community for their support to help improve the playground experience for older elementary students at WK Elementary School.
In order for WK staff to keep age groups safely separated on the playground, the 4th-6th grade students are not allowed to play on the playground with large slides built in 2018.
They are fundraising for new playground equipment, including structures resembling an obstacle course and an inclusive structure designed to support all students, including those with disabilities.
In 2023 the 16.2 million dollar referendum passed for Wabasha-Kellogg Public Schools but playground equipment was not included as part of the referendum budget.
