Mississippi River Flooding Forecast




Flood levels are slowly rising up and down the Mississippi River.


According to the National Weather Service, the river at Hastings below Lock and Dam 2 was at 16.93 feet as of Wednesday and is expected to reach major flood level, 18 feet by this morning and crest at 20.2 feet by Sunday.

 

Red Wing’s measurement stood at 13.9 feet  as of Wednesday afternoon and is forecast to go over the minor stage at 14 feet by today. Moderate flooding is forecast at 15 feet by Saturday morning with the crest of 15.7 feet by Sunday night.

 

The river at Lake City is expected to rise to minor flood stage of 16 feet this afternoon and crest at 17.1 feet by Monday afternoon. Moderate flooding occurs at 18 feet.


Wabasha continues to experience minor flooding, measured at 13.87 feet as of Wednesday and the river is forecast to rise to moderate flood level of 14 feet by Friday, and 14.6 feet by Sunday. Major flooding occurs at 16 feet.


State Hwy 60 (Pembroke Ave) under the railroad bridge in the City of Wabasha is CLOSED due to flooding. The road will be detoured until further notice.
