Mississippi River Flood Stage


The Flood Warning continues for Mississippi River at Lake City affecting Pepin, Wabasha and Goodhue Counties and the Mississippi River at Wabasha affecting Wabasha and Buffalo Counties.


According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, as of Monday morning, the river at Lake City is 16.7 ft, and by Saturday, April 22nd it’s estimated to be at 18.4 ft. Minor Flood stage is 16 ft, Moderate Flood level is 18 ft. and major flooding occurs at 20 ft.


The river as of Wednesday at Wabasha is 14.45 ft, and is forecast to be at 15.9 ft. by Saturday, April 22. Minor Flooding occurs at 12 ft, Moderate Flood Stage is 14 ft and the flood stage for major flooding is 16 ft.


Downriver at Winona, the Mississippi is expected to reach major flood level, 18-ft, by the end of the week.
