Kay Kuhlmann, Red Wing City Council Administrator, is set to retire in March of 2025.
Kuhlmann, who is responsible for the administration of City business and for implementing Council policies including charter, ordinance and statutory obligations, has been City Council Administrator for the City since July 1997.
She says 2024 is the 40th anniversary of her career in city government and 2025 seemed like a good time to enjoy time off.
Kuhlmann says she’s excited about a pair of recent hires by the city to lead the Public Library and the Sheldon Theatre.
Prior to her position as Red Wing City Council Administrator, Kuhlmann worked as a Management Analyst for the City of Coon Rapids, Assistant City Manager of Prior Lake and City Administrator in Jordan, Minnesota.
