Girls State Basketball Tournament:
Goodhue 67 Crosby-Ironton 59-The Wildcats edged the Rangers in the Class AA quarterfinals at Maturi Pavilion.
Goodhue's defense and rebounding down the stretch were key factors in the win. Good hue was also 18-26 at the free throw line while Crosby-Ironton was 6-8.
Kendyl Lodermeier led Goodhue with 19 points and added nine rebounds. Tori Miller had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Elisabeth Gadient had 16 points, eight rebounds and six steals.
Freshman sensation Tori Oehrlein led Croby-Ironton with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Margaret Silgen added 16 points and Hannah Compton 11.
Goodhue will face Albany in the State Class AA semi-finals at Williams Arena Friday with the pre-game show at 7:45pm with the tip-off at 8pm on KWNG 106 and on-line at www.kwng.com with Jack Colwell and Race Roth.
Albany defeated Perham 51-38 in the late quarterfinal at Maturi Pavilion.
In the other AA quarterfinals at Williams Arena, Providence Academy crushed Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 78-40 and Minnehaha Academy topped New London-Spicer 50-28.
Providence Academy faces Minnehaha Academy at 6pm Friday at Williams Arena Friday in the first semi-final.
