Boys & Girls State Track & Field:
Thomas Lamkin of Red Wing won the State Class AA 100 meter dash for the second straight year Saturday at St. Michael-Albertville High School. Lamkin's winning time was 10.75 seconds. Lamkin was third Saturday in the 200 meter dash as he closed out a stellar track career at RWHS.
Nora Hanon of Red Wing was 12th in the 1600 meter run.
In Class A, Lake City's 4 x 800 meter relay team of Peyton Meincke, Eden Olson, Natalie Gates and Olivia Yotter was second overall. Grant Reed of Goodhue/Kenyon-Wanamingo was fourth in the 200 meter dash.
Softball:
Prescott beat Laconia 3-1 at the Goodman Softball complex in Madison to win the State Division 3 Championship. Leah French had the winning hit with a two run single in the fourth inning. Ella Stewart tossed a three hitter in the cicle for the Cardinals, who finished the season at 21-8.
Sunday Amateur Baseball:
Red Wing Aces 12 Cannon Falls Bears 4-Reese Tripp belted a two run homer in the fifth inning and Marcus Walm added a grand slam homer in the sixth inning as the Aces beat the Bears at John Burch Park Sunday in a CCVL matchup.
Ben Kuehni went the first five innings on the mound for the Aces and allowed four hits to get the win. Aaron Johnson pitched four scoreless innings in relief.
The Aces are now 8-2 with five straight wins and play makeup game at the Rochester Royals at 7:30pm tonight at Hudson Field.

Thursday:
Zumbrota-Mazeppa vs. Foley State Class AA quarterfinal 5:30pm at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.
