Greater Lake City Community Foundation’s annual fundraiser for the Lake City Food Shelf has surpassed the $50,000 goal and last year’s record contributions by nearly six thousand dollars.
The total received this year was $56,597. The 2024 campaign raised $50,936.
Campaign coordinator Bruce Carlstrom reported that thirty sponsors pledged a total of $25,500 to be used to match contributions from the community.
The Lake City Graphic and Lake Hits 95 radio provided in-kind contributions in publicity.
Since its inception in 2014, Five for Food has provided over $367,000 in contributions and is the largest source of funding for the Lake City Food Shelf.
