GCHS and Legion Veteran’s Event

The community is invited to join Goodhue County Historical Society and the Red Wing American Legion Post #54 today as they honor our local veterans.

The event from 2-3:30 pm will feature a round table discussion with members of the Red Wing Legion and will highlight new oral history interviews in the museum’s collection.

Between 2024 and 2025, twenty oral history interviews were completed in a collaboration between GCHS and Pier 55 Red Wing Area Seniors.

They will showcase a video compilation of these interviews this afternoon, ranging from veterans’ experiences to what life was like on the home front.

They are also collecting voluntary donations for the Red Wing Area Food Shelf. Please consider donating a much needed item:Canned meats, Soup, Cereal, Non-Perishables and/or Monetary Donations.
