Five for Food Campaign

Five for Food, an initiative of the Greater Lake City Community Foundation for the Lake City Food Shelf, has begun its eighth year.

The drive kicks off February 14th and will end on March 31st.

Twenty-five sponsors have pledged $18,500. The sponsor’s funds are pooled to match dollar for dollar contributions $5 and greater up the total of the sponsor’s pool.

The goal for 2022 is $40,000. Last year, Five for Food raised $41,065.

Five for Food has raised over $170,000 in the past seven years, which has allowed the Lake City Food Shelf to provide over $700,000 worth of food to those in need in the greater Lake City area.

It is the largest source of donations to the Food Shelf each year.

The Lake City Food Shelf is an IRS recognized charity and donations are tax deductible.
