It’s the first full week of October and the changing of the leaves in southeast Minnesota has started but most areas are still in the early stages.
As of Tuesday, Goodhue County and Dakota County are still in the 10-25% category.
According to the Fall Color Finder on the Minnesota DNR website, the southern half of Wabasha County and two-thirds of Olmsted County are now at 25-50%, with the remainder 10-25%.
The typical dates for peak fall colors in southeast Minnesota is early to mid October.
