County Highways 22 and 78 All-way Stop

The Wabasha County Board of Commissioners recently approved the establishment of an all-way stop at the intersection of County Highways 22 and 78.

Reconstruction is planned on County Highway 22 (350th Avenue) starting around Tuesday, September 3. Motorists on Highway 22 currently stop at the intersection, and County Highway 78 is the ‘thru’ road.

The Plainview News reports considering the planned construction, sight limitations from one direction for both roads, and relatively similar amount of traffic on each road, it was proposed to change the intersection to a 4-way stop.

The traffic control change implementation will coordinate with the start of construction timing on County Highway 22.

Property owners along both roads and in Mount Pleasant Township were notified of the proposed traffic control change, and a public meeting was held this spring. Public comments were generally supportive.

The installation of two additional Stop signs and two additional Stop Ahead signs will cost about $600.
