Sixty-five children participated in the annual Bennett’s Pumpkin Parade last Saturday.
Costumed kids and adults, led by a Plainview police car, walked from Immanuel Lutheran School to Bennett’s Food Center and Catering on a lovely fall day, maintaining a long-standing Halloween-time tradition.
According to the Plainview News, Bennett’s gave away pumpkins, and treat bags with pop, candy, potato chips, suckers, and bananas.
Kathy Schmidt of Plainview, grandmother of parade-goers Noah Little of Lake City, and Cecelia and Oliver Thedens of Plainview, clearly enjoyed the event. “This is awesome,” she said. “It’s fun for the kids. It’s a great event.”
Owner Eric Bennett, working the event with his wife, Brenda, daughter Claire and son Colton, said he appreciates the many compliments he receives for hosting the Pumpkin Parade.
