Workers with the Plainview and Elgin Public Works Departments recently hung personalized banners honoring 2025 PEM High School graduates with their names and photos.

The Plainview News reports the banners, purchased by graduates’ parents, were hung along Broadway Avenue in Plainview, and others are hung on Main Street in Elgin.

A total of 86 banners were hung in Plainview. Ten were hung in downtown Elgin.

The annual event began in 2021 when graduation ceremonies were deemed a prohibited event by Gov. Tim Walz, due to concerns of a COVID-19 ‘super-spreader’ event.
