Colvill Family Center Screening

The years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth.

Early childhood screening is required for entrance in Minnesota’s public schools and must take place between age 3 and kindergarten.

Please call 651-385-8000 to register. Screening is offered monthly at Colvill Family Center throughout the school year.

Open dates are:

·     2026 -- Oct. 1 and 22; Nov. 5 and 19; Dec. 3.

·     2027 -- Jan. 14; Feb. 4 and 18; March 11; April 1 and 15; May 6.

Screening is a quick, no-cost check of a child's vision and hearing, height and weight, immunization record and a review of health care coverage.

Screeners also look for risk factors that may impact learning, such as use of large and small muscles, thinking, language and speaking skills.

The screening includes a parent/guardian report of social-emotional development and a summary meeting.
