Young Child Severe Burns

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical call in Welch Township Tuesday around 9:11 am involving a three-year-old boy with severe burns.

The initial investigation found the boy obtained a lighter torch and accidently set his clothes on fire.

The child was transported to Regions Hospital Burn Center for care.

The City of Red Wing EMS and Miesville First responders assisted at the scene.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Goodhue County Social Services, and the Miesville Fire Department are investigating the incident.
