Whitewater State Park Visitor Center

The public is invited to attend a public information meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, November 20th at the Whitewater State Park Visitor Center to learn more about the Highway 74 culvert replacement work that is scheduled to occur next summer.

The Visitor Center is at 19041 Highway 74, Altura.

Minnesota Department of Transportation staff and others will provide information about the project and people can ask questions, gather information, and provide their thoughts about the project.

According to the Plainviews News, no formal presentation is planned. A project website will be active and updated with information from the meeting for people unable to attend.

Construction is scheduled from July to November in 2026 along Highway 74 in Whitewater State Park to replace two culverts that cross the highway within the park.

Traffic detours are required for the work to be safely completed.

Culverts will be replaced one at a time, so park-goers, staff and travelers have access to the park sites.
