Tucked between He Mni Can-Barn Bluff, the railroad, and the river sits one very important facility in Red Wing: the City's wastewater treatment plant.
It removes contaminants from residential and industrial wastewater before releasing the water into the Mississippi River.
All that work is crucial to our health and the environment. But the plant will need big improvements over the next few years to upgrade its aging infrastructure and meet future standards.
It's a large, multi-year project that every resident will want to be aware of.
To learn more, the community is invited to attend an open house on Thursday, January 8 from 5 to 7 pm in the Red Wing Public Library Foot Room downstairs, 225 East Avenue.
Staff will review why the project is happening, the plans being considered, and how this will affect you as a resident.
