The Wabasha Rotary Club will cut ribbon on a new flashing beacon signal crossing on Wednesday at 4:30 pm along Hiawatha/County Road 30 and the community is invited to attend.

The project was in celebration of their 75th anniversary and celebrates one of the core tenants for the Wabasha Rotary, service above self.

The new Rapid Flashing Beacon Signal (RFB) and new paint striping was installed in a highly traveled area between schools, homes, and employment areas and sees about 3000 cars per day, near a speed transition of 55 miles per hour.

The project means that students, children, handicapped individuals, bicyclists, and more are now able to cross the road more safely and visibly to vehicles.

Wabasha County was a key partner in the project; providing technical assistance and installation.
