The Holiday Train’s visit to Wabasha is quickly approaching, and out of necessity, there are going to be some important changes made this year.
The Holiday Train will be making stops along Highway 61 and is scheduled to stop in Wabasha onFriday, December 12th at 5:45 pm at the Gambia Avenue railway crossing by Bruegger Park.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) has made the City of Wabasha aware of serious challenges faced in past years with pedestrians making their way onto the train tracks and climbing onto/underneath the train. This is extremely dangerous and is strictly prohibited.
The primary goal of increased safety enforcement is to ensure the safety of Wabasha residents and visitors for this event, and to keep this wonderful tradition in Wabasha for years to come.
To combat these safety issues, the City will be utilizing manpower from the Wabasha Fire Department, Ambulance, Police, Public Works, and Emergency Management with assistance from the Wabasha Sheriff's Office.
There will be strict enforcement of No Parking Zones in the areas shown on the attached map at https://www.wabasha.org/.
Enforcement will be by means of ticketing and/or towing vehicles parked illegally.
Please respect these zones to keep emergency.
