Wabasha County Commissioners

on April 1 tabled a preliminary plat request by Brent Beck of Cornerstone Real Estate for ‘Cornerstone Ridge,’ land parcels totaling about 109 acres in Mazeppa Township, for up to 60 days.
The County Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on March 24 to hear testimony related to the request, and voted 5-0 in recommending that the proposed preliminary plat be approved.
According to the Plainview News, the proposed new plat would include 10 lots and three outlots.
County staff recognized two issues with the preliminary plat that must be addressed by the applicant when creating the final plat:
• Roadways must be dedicated to the public and excluded from the area/acreages of the platted lots or outlots. The dedicated roadways also must meet the minimum width in the Zoning Ordinance, which is 66 feet.
• ‘Road A,’ as located on the preliminary plat, shall be identifed as ‘410th Avenue” and ‘Road B’ shall be identified as ‘408th Avenue’ to conform with the Wabasha County Addressing Ordinance.
