A train derailed near the county line of Wabasha and Winona counties near Minneiska, which is located about halfway between the cities of Wabasha and Winona, Saturday shortly after 9 am.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, no one was injured. The right lane of northbound Hwy 61 was closed through this morning as crews finished their work at the derailment scene.
The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Department said that about a dozen cars derailed but all of them were empty and there were no leaks or spills.
