Filip Gustavsson made 31 saves as the Minnesota Wild beat the Jets 4-1 in Winnipeg. The Wild never trailed as Jared Spurgeon and Mats Zuccarello both scored in the first period to give them an early 2-0 lead. Freddy Gaudreau and Sammy Walker also lit the lamp in the victory. The Wild have won seven of their last eight games. They're in third place in the Central Division with 42 points and a 20-12-and-2 record. Minnesota hosts Dallas tomorrow night.

The Timberwolves will try to stop a three-game losing streak when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans at Smoothie King Center tonight. The Wolves are coming off a 113-110 loss to the Miami Heat on Monday night. Minnesota is 16-and-18, while the Pelicans are the second-best team in the Western Conference at 21-and-12.

The Twins might still be in the Carlos Correa sweepstakes. The New York Post is reporting that three mystery teams have reached out to the former Twins shortstop as he tries to work through a snag in his deal with the Mets. The free agent originally signed with the Giants earlier this month, but the deal fell through when San Francisco had concerns about his physical. The Mets have had similar concerns after agreeing to terms with Correa, but the All-Star is reportedly not open to renegotiating his original agreement. The Post's report adds that Correa would prefer to play for the Mets, but that there's a 45-percent chance that he heads back into free agency.

The Minnesota Gophers will have one of their top pass-catchers back in 2023. Tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford announced yesterday that he is returning to the University of Minnesota next year. 2023 will be Spann-Ford's final year of eligibility. He caught 40 passes for 481 yards and two touchdowns in the regular season. Spann-Ford and the rest of the Gophers are gearing up for the Pinstripe Bowl against Syracuse tomorrow.

The Packers are making some roster moves ahead of their Week 17 matchup against the Vikings. The team signed receiver Bo Melton from the Seahawks' practice squad. The rookie was a seventh round pick out of Rutgers in last Spring's draft. Defensive lineman Dean Lowry was placed on IR in a following move. The Packers square off against the Vikings in Green Bay on Sunday.

A long road trip concludes for the Bucks tonight when the team squares off against the Bulls in Chicago. The team was dominated by the Celtics 139-118 on Christmas day, which saddled Milwaukee with its third straight loss. The Bucks dropped to 22-and-11 on the season and are 1-and-3 on the current road trip. The team got some bad news as Khris Middleton will remain sidelined for tonight's matchup. This will be the sixth consecutive game the All-Star will miss due to a knee injury.

Wisconsin beat Oklahoma State in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl 24-17 in Phoenix. Braelon Allen rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown while Chez Mellusi also scored on the ground. The Badgers and Cowboys both finish the season 7-and-6.
