The Minnesota Wild scored four goals in the third period of their 6-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings at the Xcel Energy Center. Detroit tied the game with a goal from Alex DeBrincat early in the third period before Ryan Hartman, Marcus Foligno, and Marcus Johansson scored in succession to put the game away. Johansson scored twice in the victory, while Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy also lit the lamp. Minnesota is on a four-game winning streak. The Wild are tied for sixth place in the Central Division with 36 points and a 16-13-and-4 record. Minnesota is at Winnipeg on Saturday.
The Minnesota Timberwolves begin a two-game home stand when they host the Dallas Mavericks at Target Center tonight. The Wolves are coming off a 129-106 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night. Minnesota still has the best record in the Western Conference at 22-and-7. Tonight's game tips off at 7:00 PM.
The Minnesota Vikings list of injuries continues to grow. Wide receivers Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor, defensive backs Mekhi Blackmon, Theo Jackson, and Byron Murphy, and defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy all missed practice with injuries yesterday. The report was released on the same day that both tight end TJ Hockenson and edge rusher DJ Wonnum were officially placed on injured reserve, ending their 2023 campaigns.
